I have decided to take over my dads 1993 q45 that has been sitting for about 2 years. First thing is that it still runs. But it idles a little ruff but smooths out. Fuel pump is humming and it does cut off at stop lights, sometimes. Just wondering what maintenance should be done in order to get this car back to top performance. Any after market parts to make this baby zoom?

:welcome: to NICO!

It sounds like you have a lot of rehab work to do before you start looking at mods. I'd start with the fuel pump, since you say it's humming. Probably injector issues for the rough idle, and cutting off at stoplights potentially sounds like a bad MAF (mass air flow) sensor connection or a bad sensor itself.

Once you get all of that done - the most effective mods would be the NICO ECU and adding the front and rear sway bars off of an Active Q. Not much aftermarket support for the old Q, and what was there has pretty much dried up at this point.

Good luck!

Heath

Hey thanks for the insight. I guess i really gotta roll my sleeves up on this one. My Q is a base model w/ no active suspension. I would like to stablize the car on turns as this thing runs on the highway. If i stop and let it idle it will cut off...sometimes. I think i will just start with the fuel pump and work my way to the engine. Any suggestion on spark plugs and things to look for while driving it? thanks in advanced.

Is the check engine light on? If so you should pull ECU codes. If no CEL it's likely just the fuel pump but the fuel pump controller could be having trouble also.

Can anyone tell me what year and what 300zx brake, exhaust or anyother part will fit on my 93 Q. Looking to upgrade the brakes and "possibly" the rear end along with any suggestions I get. Just experimenting with whats proven...Thanks

There are some suspension parts and brakes parts that will work. Not sure about exhaust.

If you do a search for 300zx or z32 you'll find a wealth of info.
