Is this possible? I think it would be much cooler if you didn't have to push any buttons and have the doors automatically unlock.

My brother has this feature on his prius, I personally think pushing the button is more secure...

is it possible for the doors to lock automatically when you're away from it?

with my dad's E500 Mercedes Benz, you just grab the handle like you're opening the door and it unlocks and opens... it still has the rubber piece though. the rubber piece is to lock the doors and just yank on the handle to open the door. i don't know if it's possible to modify the Altima for that or at least just yet since its a new car

Yes, I forgot to mention this feature. I would love to have this as much the auto unlock feature. So it might not be possible now, but do you guys think it could be in the future? How technically difficult would this be?

hmmm i just thought it did automatically lock when u shut the car and open and close the driver's door....like u've walked away from the car....just like when the lights shut off after 45 seconds....but i havent tested this yet.....since im used to locking it on my own....i thought it would already have that safety feature...

If you forgot to lock the car and walk away, it will lock on its own after some time.

would this also refer to when like you just unlocked your car and got in and started up the engine. you're ready to go and your doors are still unlocked but you either put in reverse or drive and drive away, do the doors automatically lock?

I tried this as well, got out of my car, shut the door, the lights stayed on, then went off after about 30s...went in the house for about 2 mins or so, came back out, and doors were still unlocked. Don't think the doors automatically lock themselves.

Definitly doesn't.

In terms of nifty features. One i'd really like to see for the CVT, if you start the car, and walk away, the shifter button should stay locked until the key is detected back in the car. I asked one of my friends to jump in the car while i stood away from the car, and they could shift it into gear
