Er... There's just a small problem with this.
From the Make a Wish Foundation website:
ChildrenWith respect to children, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America only collects personally identifiable contact information from children who are referring themselves as potential wish children. We pass that information on to the child’s local Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter so that the chapter can contact the child’s family to make an assessment of wish eligibility, but we do not share it in any other way or with any other third parties. We do not give the ability to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information on our Web site.
The way the REAL Make a Wish foundation does things is to offer an address for the child "care or" the Make a Wish Foundation. Due to COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, it is illegal for any website to collect or publish information for children under 13 years of age. You remember when you registered here at NICO, you had to chose "I am 13 years or older" or "I am under 13 years of age"? THat's why.
There's something screwy about this. I'd suggest anyone who was going to send a letter do some research on this particular child and see if he's really connected with the MaW Foundation. THen find the "care of" address with them. The above address can't be real, as it is quite illegal.
No, the 'net isn't just for stealing music, it's for taking advantage of generous people. I'ma find out who did this and sign them up for every advertiser's mailing list I can find.
