OK, so i just started using my newly aquired 240 as a daily driver and it sucks not having a stereo in it. i took the kenwood out of my previous car and am in the process of trying to install it into the 240. after mulling over the wiring colors for the 240 and the head unit, i felt pretty confident. and then i went out to the car...

the wiring harness was hacked beyond recognition. the colors of the wires are all messed up. here's what i have...

redgreenpinkbrown w/ whitebrownblue w/ yellowblue w/ whiteblue (x2)red w/ yellow (x2)red w/ blue (x2)red w/ black (x2)

anyone have any suggestions what do to at this point? from what i read, having two blue wires is normal, but how do you tell which one is for what? and what do i do about the 3 red wires with two for each color? i'm in no way electrically inclined, i'm more on the mechanical side of things. needless to say, the guy who owned the car before me was an idiot. this is added to a long list of things he'd f'ed up on this poor car.

any help would be much appreciated!

well I am having the same problem with mine, checked fuses and wiring, the only solid blue wire that I have though looks like it comes from behind the drivers seat, this can't be right can it?

I am only in search of power, remote which is all I need because the speakers are driven by the amp.

I had to do the same for my coupe also. ***** YOU ARE IN LUCK...I picked up (2) stock car harness at the local salvage yard and I only used one of them. Hit me up if you want me to send it to you....for $$FREE$$I am assuming that you do know how to solder wires together... This link is easy to follow along as well as those already posted:http://www.installdr.com/Harne...g.pdf

**** any Nissan's from 1985-1994 will have the same factory radio harness. I got both of mine from a Sentra and a Pulsar. ****

There is actually (2) blue wires present, one on the larger car harness and one on the 3-wire harness (which will not be used when installing/plugging in a new stereo). Use a voltmeter to see if there is power present with the key in ignition. If I'm not mistaken both of blue wires (w/ silver dot markings) should give you 12volts .

Does this apply for the 1991 240sx active speaker system wiring too?
