I have a 1991 240sx hatch with vlsd. She was a track car i recently picked her up for 1500. So when i turn whetther its a small or big turn my back tires screech like they are loosing traction and they also do get a little stuck when going in reverse again when im in reverse going straight is fine, but the slightest turn with make my back wheels lock up a bit. Any ideas on what it coukd be? Now there is a hit on the back on driverside. Maybe the hit caused some damage?

Are you positive it's a vlsd? It sounds to me like it might be a welded diff.

Well based on the information I was given by the previous owner. It may be.

A welded differential will make both wheels attempt to spin at the same speed even if you're turning, when they don't need to because they cover a different amount of ground.

Yea kind of sounds like that's whats going on. It's pretty f*** annoying to be honest. Lol so new diff? Also my transmission seems to be more off to the right and isn't centered.

Take a pic. As for the diff, you can grab another one from the junk yard. I would go for a vlsd. It supplies power to both wheels while still allowing for difference in wheel speeds while turning. You can yank one out of a J30.

Bad trans mount and/or engine mounts. Get underneath there with a pry bar and start check for loose/worn components.

I'll give it a try tomorrow. See what I find. I knew it was off.

Bad news guys I think my transmission is going out. There's this loud scraping noise when the clutch is not engaged and through 1,2,& 3rd gear the higher the gear the quieter the scrape. Also don't feel like my acceleration is there.

How's your clutch pressure? Any chance the pedal needs adjustment (not fully disengaging)?

Clutch feels fine for the most part could use a new one soon too though.
