Okay, so my valve cover gasket has went bad, a friend of mine has the exact same car and we replaced the gasket in his 2 weeks ago without a problem, no leaks afterwards and all is well.

Mine on the other hand, not so much. On the passenger side back right in between the last 2 bolts my engine gushes oil, I never noticed it at first because it's not actually hitting the engine so it's not burning, thus no smell.

I drove it over to a friends house and as I pulled in his drive way the oil light came on, popped the hood and sure enough I had no oil. We filled it up and drove it back home and the light would come on when I would stop but go off again once I started moving, probably just the oil level moving around with the sudden stops, but we can't figure out why it's leaking. The seal is set and we did put sealant around the area as well, it's not cracked at all.

Are you sure its the valve cover gasket leaking and not the front timing chain cover? (those are notorious for leaking on these engines)

Maybe take a pic of where its leaking from

Talk about major bump lol, yeah it was the gasket. Replaced and have since sold the vehicle.

My bad lol I went through a bunch of unanswered threads without actually checking the dates on them. Didn't realize how un-used the Altima forum was.
