I have a 93 240SX. My battery will not hold a charge for longer than 2 days. I have checked the alternator and even replaced the battery and it is still going dead. There is a ticking noise near the drivers side headlight. The car was hit on the drivers side and the fender is slightly pushed into the headlight. If you touch the "rod" right beside/under headlight you can feel the vibration. Headlights no longer go up or down b/c of this. I am thinking that possibly the headlight motor is trying to flip the lights down repeatedly causing the battery failure. Can anyone help intelling me how to disconnect these motors if possible at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Patty D.

I have been trying to but I am not sure where the motor is located. Someone else had told me it could be the relay switch which I could see as well. But I am not sure where all this is located in the car and I don't have a owners manual. If I unplug it from the fuse box I am afraid that fuse could go to other things. Thanks!

Oh right on!

i'm in the same story as you.... but while drifting on a rainy day and boom a spin 360 and hit the guardrails and my frontbumber got messed up and my driver side headlight did that noise and couldnt close down so i just let it stay up by pressing the pop-up light button left of the steering wheel and the noise is gone....

Turn off you car pop your hood and check you battery for a drain, also test the eletrolite in your battery cells. Also check for a short the ticking noise might be a loose cable arcing.

the motor is right next to the headlight. it's got a plastic cover on it, if you take it off there's a knob to manually move the headlight up/down.

headlight retract relay is beside the coolent bottle. 4th one from the left, marked H/L RETR. Pull it and check for draw on batt. If no draw could be a short on the motor wire
