Major fuel leak at fill up 2002 Altima

I have a 2002 Altima w/ a 2.5L. Currently throwing a 0445 code "control valve GROSS LEAK". At fill up it dumps fuel down near the tank and once it built back pressure after fill up and leaked from the gas cap. I checked the obvious first such as fuel lines and loose fittings all negative. Where do I look next. I'm not a fan of the local dealer and want to try it for myself.

Do you have a factory manual? I got mine on Ebay on Cd it has everything. You could find out what 'control valve' is and where it is. Have you seen the filler tube? Usually there's a rubber hose between the cap assembly and the tank inlet. Maybe it's dryrotted or punctured. Maybe something with vapor recovery system is causing pressure buildup. Gas cap good? In NJ they test them as part of State Inspection. Good Luck
