Ok here it is.... i was having fun doing some donuts for about 10seconds when i heard some wierd noise coming from my engine bay. it sounded some knocking noises coming from my engine but that seemed to happen every once in awhile. i decided to stop and just head out. as i was coming home the noise got really loud, and i mean loud. it sounded like i had no oil in my valves and the pistons were scratching against the valve walls. i called a friend that knew about the stock ka24de motor and he said it might be the oil pump and another said that i might have lost a piston. i dont know what the hell happend so your response would help out alot. thx

you might have blown a rod, drain your oil and see if there are chunks of metal in it

A blown rod or lost piston would feel like something is way wrong. If the oil pump crapped out, chances are you would have no pressure and get a light on your dash. Check your oil level. If it was at or near the minimum or less, you may have starved the motor for oil during your parking lot antics and spun a rod bearing. The KA24DE does not use hydraulic lifters, so I doubt that will be the problem. I've seen detonation damage pistons which caused a similar noise to a spun bearing, but unless you have a turbo, I doubt this is the problem.

well it basically knocks really hard everytime. itll kinda go away while the car is idling but when i start to go it just gets really crazy. im not 100% sure but i checked my cars oil right after doing the donuts and the oil level seemed fine. after the engine started knocking really hard i checked the oil and it was really low. if it is a blown rod or spun bearing can i get it fixed and how much?

your gonna need an engine rebuild or a new/rebuilt engine all together. I would start pricing those.

this is a perfect time to build your engine to be bullet proof, forged pistons and rods, high performance bearings, metal head gasket, etc... checkout http://www.importperformanceparts.net for some good internal parts.

Yeah man, you did it now. I had the same problem on my last engine. I was racing mis-shifted and it went clear up past 8000 rpms. I didnt hear anything and i wasnt aware of anything till i got into town to hear a loud clonking noise. about a week later my engine locked up and it was done for. my uncle is a 14 year Nissan expert so he and my little brother did the swap. We got the engine from a place called Mid-West Engine Sales got the motor for 950 and 50 dollar shipping with 34000 miles. That weekend we did the swap, we were taking off the harness and i happend to look down in the engine bay and there it was.... my connecting rod, i about sh*t myself because the hole was about 6 inches in diameter. what happend was the 2nd cylinder piston seized the the connecting rod bent in half and was hanging out the block. all in all your screwed. but the swap isnt bad, it took 10 hours on saturday and 12 hours on sunday just in time to break it in that night. sorry man
