Alright so I ran into a major electrical problem tonight. I went to test the ignition wires to double check the color code since i was planning on doing a starter kill and I have no power going to the ignition harness.
Here's a bit of an overview of what i've done prior. (battery out) A few days ago I removed my dash, dropped the steering column, and put in a radio-(new wiring with power coming off of ignition constant) after installing the radio I turned it on (separate switch instead of accessory) and it worked fine and I let it run for about an hour.
Until tonight I have not touched the car. Tonight I installed my new headlights and ran my wires for my angel eyes and city lights (only grounded them no +12v yet) then I had planned to do the starter kill so I pulled up the color codes online and went out to voltage test the ignition to double check them. When I went to check them I wasn't reading any voltage from the 12v constant. So I double checked my battery connections (fine), fuses (fine), and fusible links (fine) then I checked the battery side of the fuse box and It read 12v.EDIT: The reason i tested the ignition harness was to verify my colorsWhite/Red- 12vBlue- Acc.Black/yellow- ?Black/green- ?Black/red- ?These don't match any manual or color codes I have looked at for the vehicle
So as a thought I set my meter to continuity and hooked one end to ground and started testing the ign. harness and all the leads had continuity to ground (I know that is not a good thing). right now the only thing that does work on my car are all the lights; dome, headlights, parking, tail, and break lights. I did blow a fuse on the tail lights but replaced that and they were fine. And that brings you guys up to speed as to where I am right now.
I am now out of ideas and at a loss as to what the problem is and frankly i'm pretty pissed since i'll be getting my new engine in a few days (old one not pulled yet). If any one has any ideas I would greatly appreciate the help on this one.
