Major electrical problem. alt 75a fuse keep blowing.

I checked my fuse last night. the alt 75a was blown. so i bought one this morning from dealer. pluged it in, connect the ground on the battery. fuse blew immediately.

now, car starts. but everything electrical related isn't working at all. cluster, headlights, brakelights, everything is not working.

please help me.

mine is doing that now i am trying to wire a sr in and feel i am missing a step

First thing I would do is take your alternator off and have it tested. It's free and it won't hurt anything. Also, inspect the hot wire and make sure there isn't a cut/tear in it anywhere that could possibly be grounding it out.

Also, it's been a while since I've looked at a stock 240 (mine is all re-wired) so make sure not to rule out the starter, etc. unless you are sure it's the alternator (sounds right though).
