major 240 problems

ok ive got a serious problem. the death of my 240 could be right around the corner if i dont find out whats up. hopefully someone can help me here. my ka is in great shape for 117,000 miles, but big f-ing problem. start the car, loud knocking sound from my transmission. i put the car in gear and all it does is rev really loud. no power at all to the rear wheels. i went from running a slow *** 16 to running as fast as my pumas can push my fat ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

transmission is dead...as long as the motor is revving healthy, i would go to a trans shop and get an estimate. or find one in a junkyard and swap it in. This could also be an opportunity for a manual swap!

yuo probably got some clutchs or bands worn or busted. could be time for a rebuild.

Can you get the car moving in like 1 or 2....reverse? or is it the same in every gear?

all it does is rev. bout how much would it cost to do it? know where i can get a manual transmission? id go ahead and do my planned sr20 swap but i aint got the money to ship my car to the place let alone 4500 for the shyt i wanna do.

When the ATF was low in my ford truck a few years back, it did that. Check your fluid.

I honestly doubt it's the fluid. Nissan automatic transmissions are fairly weak and can't take the beating we put on them. Talk to 95silviase, he has an autotranny for sale and has a really good price onit.

You could probably get away with just a used torque converter.
