wanting to do some maintainance on my s13 blacktop sr20det

has almost 600 miles since I did the swap

oil filter: what oil filter to get? I been using mobil1 all my life and I wouldn't mind sticking to it, is there a part number for it? can I get it at kragen? should I go with nissan oil filter instead? for a little more I can get this.... http://www.store.yahoo.com/pha....html is it worth it? what kind of oil to use? I guess I'll probably be using mobil1 full synthetic, how about castro? what weight of oil should I use and how much of it?

spark plugs: I am looking at ngk Iridium IX ... what is the part number for my motor?

spark plug wires: any recommendation on these? if you recommend ngk, what's the part number?

I have 3 cans of seafoam and 2.5qt of redline mt-90 left... they are a good idea to do right?

Oil filter,if you want to use a mobil 1 filter, just buy for a 91 sentra se-r with the sr20de motor,or look at lsauto.com they sell oem nissan filter for the sr20det motor.

spark plugs,i would get the stock NGK platium plugs.i can get you the part# if you need it.

you don't need plug wires. we have direct coil ignition. why do you think you went through all teh trouble to install an ignitor chip

As long as you get a filter for a 91 Se_R, you'll be fine with any filter. I prefer the K&N filters because they have a 1" nut on the end of them that makes breaking them off easy. You'll understand what I mean when you do your oil change.

If in the rare and random case you have what happened to me, you'll need a VG30 oil filter. For some random reason, my car has a larger fitting than other SRs and it requires the larger 300Z filter. The only reason I know I need it is because i cross referenced the old filter that was on the car when I got it.

Oil filter, you can use the SE-R filter. Funny little fact that might not be of any use to you unless you've got a Gen II or III MR2, you can use the Toyota filter from those MR2's or the SE-R filter. Both work quite well.

Plugs - same as the DOHC 240sx. Just that the gapping is different. Off the top of my head I think the part number is BKR6EIX and chances are you'll get the -11, but it should be a -9 for proper gapping. If you've got high boost, you might want to check over the gap but it's not absolutely critical.

No spark plug wires. Remember they use coilpacks, and ignitor system, not a distributor setup. There is that aftermarket set of coilpacks from Splitfire, but those are expensive ~$400 from what I've seen.

The MT-90's a good idea, probably the seafoam too.

I checked out the FSM and it had a blurb about the spark plugs that were compatable, and it pointed out platnium plugs. The plugs I pulled from my motor had the platinum plugs also. It took me a little while to figure out that they were the plugs that are compatable with the sr are the same plugs as the ones in the DOHC KA but the -9 gapping wasn't available here so I bought the -11 iridiums and gapped them down to the -9 spec.

Yeah the FSM suggests platinums. The last 5 motors I have seen out of Japan all came with HKS plugs, I am starting to think they sell cheap replacements to OEM there.

I use Iridium plugs in all the cars that my family has. The ones I'd recommend are NGK IX part number BKR6EIX-11

the only reason why i don't have iridiums in my car right now is due to money issues. i have a brand new set of coppers in my car for the time being, and once I get a few more things done to the car, i'll get a set of iridiums

BKR6EIX-11 is 6.50 a pop at club plug.... anywhere else cheaper?

are they pre-gapped or no? what's the recommended gapping for my motor? I was looking at sr20det s14 manual but I am not sure if it's the same

You can check PDM...I think that'd be about it. I bought my set at a group buy on Zilvia, but it was cheap for me since I live in the area and didn't have to pay for shipping and stuff. They're pregapped at .044", the SR's use .036" but can use the .044" no problem.
