MAINTENCE on engine oil on Dash went on

i was supposed to go to my maintence appt on feb 12 or when i hit 7200 miles but i been super busy with school. now im 7400 miles and the dash that indicates mpg and stuff showed : maintience : engine oil. i opened up the maintence screen and it is set to mileage to warn me about engine oil. does anyone know how long i have before i must bring to dealer. i'm not planning to drive the car this weekend, but i have to drive monday and tuesday for exams. do u think i should go wed? or just go monday?

That all depends on what kid of driving you do. I do a lot of highway and I ONLY use Mobil1..even form day 1. I change mine every 7K now but followed the maintenance book for the first 15K You should be fine.

I'm personally a 3000-4000 mile oil change guy...while newer oils do have better longevity and what not, it's alwyas better to put non-polluted oil in to help protect the engine. If you are 200 miles over, it's not realyl that big of a deal...I've been late, been early...etc. I wouldn't be too nervous about anything.

BTW - this is your 2nd oil change...right? I hope you didn't take the engine to 7400 miles on the oil the car came with...

Yea, cuz we all know how efficient stealerships are at oil changes. He should be in and out within 15 minutes easy.

no....arh!!! im talking about doing it your self or going to a instant oil place like valvoline instant oil change

fyi, i go to the dealer to get my maintience done and everytime i go there its taken 3 hours+ even when i go early. so it is not 15 min

i personally change my oil every 5-6000 miles. i also use mobil 1 fully synthetic oil. you should be fine.
