I just pick up a 06 G35 Coupe 6MT, going to do some maintenance to it this weekend. Just had some questions, wanted to know your opinions on oil filters and tires. Should I buy the oil filter from Nissan or Infiniti, or will any oil filter from autozone work? What tires do you guys recommend for street use?

welcome!!!!! you will enjoy the G, I'm on my second one :dblthumb:

most people use the OEM oil filter, mobil 1 EP filter, or K&N performance gold...

I like the Toyo Versado LX but I have an AWD G... others will chime in on RWD tire choices...

I use Nissan oil filters and Royal Purple oil. For tires, Yokohama S-Drives were great! Toyo T1R Proxies were also good.

I've always used Nissan filters from my local Nissan dealer, but lately have been getting the $29 Mobil 1 5 qrt + M1 filter deal at Autozone for my Nissans.
And, like Joe I loved my Yoko S-Drives!!!!
I recently got A/S Conti Extreme DWS for longer life and for the little snow we get.
But, do miss the stiffer sidewalls and they were more predictable at their limit than the Conti....

Congrats!!!

I plan on getting a intake and exhaust in the future. I'm just staring to get used to the car, its been a while since I've had a car that was stick.
I just changed the oil, air filter, and belts with the help of my dad. I just need a get some tires and an alignment.

Looks just like my 05 6MT. Loved that car. As far as tires go your options aren't great with the 19" and different sizes front and back. If you care about handling just get summer tires. I tried all weather tires and the first time I hit my favorite off ramp the stability control kicked in because of the soft sidewall flex. Bridgestone's are good all around choice and the newer versions will last longer than the OEMs. Michelin are great but are expensive. Try tirerack.com to learn a bit about the available tires and they are great with questions if you call.

Be patient with the stick. The clutch takes some time to get used to and shifting will go better if you don't rush it. Good luck and have fun with a great car.

Thanks for the info. I've looked and I found a good price on Nitto INVO on onlinetires.com. They seem to have pretty good reviews.
Has anyone used this tire before?
