Maintenance Reminder

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

The salesman at our Infiniti dealership pre-set our maintenance reminders ! So, at 6,000+ miles the maintenance reminder light came on and I can't remove or reset it ! I clicked on off when it was in the start button Accs. position ! Should the engine be on when I do this ?

I went into the maintenance screen and turned it off and at the same time set oil & oil filter reminders at 9,250 miles !
But, 1st thing this morning it's back on again !

How can I remove the maintenance reminder permanently ?

There are actually two separate maintenance indicators.

One between the gauges which is controlled by the Menu and Enter on the right of the cluster.

The one in the middle is controlled through the vehicle computer. They are two separate devices and have nothing to do with one another

page 98 of this text explains the indicators and their possibilities.

Are you changing the oil or just resetting the indicators?
The oil change interval is supposed to be 3750 miles.

I don't need my maintenance reninder because I have my oil change every 3,000 miles or every 3-months witout fail ! So, the mnaintenance reminder doesn't serve it's purpose !!!

I like the classic sticker approach. But there are people I see all the time who can overlook the stick, both indicators, a check engine light, and its accompanying noises till the point where the oil light comes on. This past week we had an M45 that was actually driven past that point until the piston decided was done and made its exit through the block.

If you are setting the one in the center of the gauges you have to set the display to --- which is the next click after 18000. This is some weird part of the Audi technology they are using.
