Maintenance Reminder resetting itself on ignition cycle

I have a 2014 Rogue SL, bought it new in 2014.

I noticed the maintenance reminder in the dash resets the distance driven back to 0km every time I cycle the ignition on/off.
So I can set it to remind me at 5,000 miles for an oil change but it will never reach the 5,000 miles unless I never turn off the engine.

Did anyone run into this before?

If you search back in 2014, I posted there is a fix, but it requires a dealer visit as they need to fix the firmware of the maintenance system.
