I just bought a 2003 M45 with 31k miles. Carfax shows it had 1 owner on a 3 year lease. My question is when you lease a vehicle, are you required to have scheduled service performed under the lease agreement? Also, can I give any Infiniti dealer the VIN and have them look up all the maintenance history for the vehicle? I’d like to know what maintenance was performed and specifically if the 30k maintenance was done. Thanks and look forward to participating in the forum.

Per Infiniti's web site:Who's responsible for maintenance, repairs and other service costs?Strictly speaking, you are responsible for returning your leased vehicle in good condition at lease-end. This generally means keeping up with (and paying for) scheduled maintenance and service, as well as repairing any damage the vehicle incurs while it is in your care. You will also be responsible for removing any additional equipment you might have installed. If you prefer not to repair your vehicle, you can choose to return it as is and pay a repair fee, the amount of which will be determined at that time.

You must remember that Infiniti has three tiers of maintenance. Premium, Schedule Maintenance 1, and Schedule Maintenance 2. http://www.infiniti.com/owners...00_24

Just knowing that the 30K maintenance was done probably is not going to answer the question you are looking for. You probably should have asked these questions prior to purchase.

I doubt the leasee did a 30K on it. Why would they when they're just getting rid of the car anyway?

Thanks for the info on the leasing terms. I called the dealer I bought from and he said they only did an oil change on 1/23/07 to prepare for sale. Quoted me $650 for the 30 maintenance.

I called a differnet dealer and he showed most of the 30k maintenance being done on the 23rd plus new wiper inserts and new front and rear brakes. Quoted me $364 to do the few things that were not done on the 30k maint. (antifreeze, seat filters, throttle gasket or something like that).

So any dealership can look up the vehicle maintenance history as long as it was done at a Nissan or Infiniti dealership.

Unfortunately, no longer a Nissan or Infiniti, but continuing here at NICO!

For recent enough cars, yes. Sometimes, you have to contact Infiniti Corporate for the really old ones ...
