hey i purchased my 97 Q45 with 122,xxx miles. now it has 130,xxx. i was told they did the full tune up already but i dont trust used car dealers. as far as maintenance, is there anything i could do to avoid any future problems with my car. i guess i want to try to do a full maintenance so i wont have to worry about it later on. i've been going 10w 30 mobile 1 oil/filter every 2,500 miles. other than that its just cleaning my engine bay. thanks

1) Change all fluids to Synthetic wherever appropriate. 2) Before mechanically changing ATF (BG flush) change transmission filter. You can get the gasket, one time used bolts from everythinginfiniti.com3) Do the tune up you are going to do. 4) Install a transmission cooler - FGY33 transmission is not adequately cooled. I have a B & M cooler installed.

Others will add more I am sure.

Edit: Go to a dealer and see if you can retrieve the dealer service records! Since its going to be more than 10yrs next year - this year might be the only chance to retrieve records as they purge more than 10 yr old data a lot of times.

i did the BG44k treatment on my last oil change 2,000 miles ago.. i was wondering if i can do the seafoam one this time, since im going to do a long trip coming up. would it do any damage to my engine? is it bad to switch off to another cleaner?

Mandatory to KNOW what problem you are trying to fix with any of the hundreds of cleaners before you buy and use one!

BG44k is just to clean fuel system and places where gasoline sprays: intake valves and piston crowns.

Things that clean where oil flows/sprays and varnishes build up are very different.

Just as induction cleaners are used for TB housing and plate, plenums and runners before the areas where gasoline sprays.

MAF need s special MILD spray cleaner to avoid creating damage.

Some areas EGR system and passages, PCV and hoses need manual brush cleaning with oil/carbon solvents.

We use about 15 different cleaners in various aspects of car mainteanence and repairs.

BG makes 8 and CRC makes 2 and Wurth makes 3 and some are extremely hazardous as single specialty chemicals.

Important to read the MSD of each before you even think of using it anywhere.

SeaFoam is a pretty mild generic cleaner that doesn't do much of anything thus it's safe to sell to the public without much risk to manufactuer.

As you can see the product only contains oil, naptha, IPA [isopropyl alcohol]
