Maintenance Engine Oil Indicator?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hello. I just purchased an Infiniti EX35 two weeks ago. This past weekend, a Maintenance Engine Oil indicator came on. The car only has 800 miles on it. Has anyone had this indicator come on? I didn't set it to do so. Any input would be good. Will be taking into dealer to service this issue...

I have heard of this happening on two owners already. They found out that their oil was low at 500. This is sad to hear, since when you get a new car you expect the dealer to fil it up. I know that within the first 1,000 miles you burn off a little oil, bit not enough for the light to go on.

Other than that, make sure your air filter housings are tight. This might cause the light to go on.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to NICO, sor326!!

Most likely, your car has the "Maintenance 1" Reminder set at the wrong value. Look in the EX35 Owner's Manual on page 2-23 & also starting on p.4-11.

Page 4-11 is where it's at (as mentioned above) to reset the Oil Change Reminder.

When I took delivery of my EX, there were already 3 maintenance reminders set, I assume by the dealer. One was for 1,500 miles, the second for 3,750 and the third for 7,500. I turned them all off!
