Maintenance 2002 Pathfinder SE 4x4

I bought my pathy with 29k miles and it now has 47k miles. I have not done any maintenance except for oil and tire rotations. What should have performed to this point? Also, I would like to do the work myself to save money...can anyone recommend a good site or manual? This is my first post so don't beat me up too bad. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcom Brian!I have a 2001 pathy 4x4 with 63k miles. The only thing I've done is change the belts so far other than reg. maintenance.My maintenance log book doesn't really show anything til 60K where it says to replace engine coolant and spark plugs. However, my local dealer told me that the plugs should be good for 100k. Didn't see any mention of changing the trans fluid either....Can you find out what the previous owner has done? I did find a site a copy years ago that had pathfinder manuals that you could copy down....I'll see if I can find it.

I just got finsihed changing most of the fuilds in my 02. Did the difs, trans and t-case. I figured if I did that every year this thing will last forever.

AxelpktHow did the fluids look? How about the levels?

They look pretty much the same color as they went in a year ago. I'm assuming the levels were fine.

Shouldnt be an issue at all!

like they said, if you keep ALL the fluids fresh at all times youll be fine. I would think about replacing the trans fluid sometime kinda soon.... Doing a couple pan drains would probably be OK..

I would replace the diff fluid every year, and maybe the transfer case depending on how much you use 4x4.

I have no idea what if any maintenence the previous owner did. I usually tow 3-5 times a year....where is a good reference to learn how to change specific fluids. thanks again
