I drove my 26 powered s14 home for the first time last night. The car has been ready to drive now for around a month or two. We have been having brake problems. Anyway I have a couple of issues. The drive train feels really rigid and i hate it, I think its the 1'' urethane isolators that came with the mounts. We are gonna try some rubber isolators, if there are some out there that will hold up. What is the stock boost? Mine is making 10 and 14 is this right? How much boost will it take before it goes boom? Around 6k rpm's its droping off the chart rich(below 10) Im thinking if add more boost it will lean it out and make more power. I put a s14 ka temp sending unit in the rb so my temp gauge will read right. How do we know this is the right opperating temp for the rb though? Last night sitting in traffic the temp gauge creeped up to justabove the middle of the gauge and started to worry me, once i started going it droped back down right below half way where it had been previously. I think i need to upgrade the radiator, the stock rb gtr intercooler blocks just about all of the radiator. I havent decided yet if it was worth the time or the money. We dynoed the car yesterday, I wasnt impressed with the numbers. We blew a heater hose so we only got two pulls. I think its gonna get some new plugs, some good gas and little more boost.

you are not running right and you want to up the boost? Danger will robinson. If your windsheild was loose would you go faster to push it back in? The point I am going for is until it runs good at the current boost level don't start increasing it. If the mix is wrong you fix it properly then move on. If you are using a stock 240SX radiator you definately need a bigger one. RBs are a mess of little water hoses and they have a nasty way of bursting when the motor is put under a load. You should replace them all if they are original lest they burst on the highway. What did it pull on the dyno?

No, it runs great. Its just running really rich starting around 5500rpm's under full boost. Im pretty sure thats why the hp #s arent that great.

Get a real water temp gauge. I had the electrical greddy temp gauge on my car and it was the most comforting gauge to have.

If it is getting rich under load (boost) then check your piping for boost leaks, and BTW if it is running rich and not making good numbers, then it probably isn't running "great".
