Thinking of getting one, but I don't want to be the Guinea pig.

I have read on the fit forums before someone getting a magnetic bra for their Fit.I'm not too sure how it would work ... I guess if you get any type of stone chips underneath it could damage your hood just like the regular bra.

Looks like you might have to be the guinea pig unfortunately... I haven't seen anyone with one of these before, nor have I even heard of it.

I honestly wouldn't mind picking one up though. My hood is getting tore up!

my hood is getting torn up, too. I'd love to know how this works out for you.

Did you try it?? This thread made me curious, but I'd like to hear from someone who has it.

Broke down and ordered it a month or so ago . . . it looked a little more complicated to install than I had planned on and it just sat for a while . . . finally got around to putting it on today.

Install was not as bad as it looked . . . I started in the shade because I had to wash the car first and wax the hood . . . . moved to the sun after putting it in place . . . after about 5 or 10 minutes in the sun, it softened up quite a bit and was easy to place and mold it. The trim piece went on much easier than I had anticipated.

Getting it warm is critical to installation.

Just got home from a 250 mile round-trip at highway speeds . . . no problems. So far, I'm happy with it! :dblthumb:

Here's a link to a web album with a few pics:

It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be. But it will protect your hood which is good!

Car looks great BTW!

Thanks!

It is bigger than I had expected also, but it will do it's job. The lines of the top edge kinda "flow" with the back edge of the headlights. Looking at it critically on the car and trying to decide where I would have made the break to make it smaller . . . I can't come up with better lines . . . I like it!

It's bigger but at least it will protect the hood. My deflector has saved my hood from getting damaged by road debris. I can't say the same for my lower grille / sport bumpers :( The poor thing is really dinged up from all the rocks / road debris ... She looks like she has tiny white flakes all over her ... :tisk:
