I'm looking at a 05 G35 sedan. Don't have $$$ for a catback. What do you think of this muffler? Want just a bit better sound. Will it drone?

Have you considered an axle-back exhaust?

HKS, Tannabe and Greddy have axle-back systems. They sell for around $400ish (lower and higher) and should be relatively easy to install yourself...If you're into that.

Stillen also makes an axle back now...

I have and HKS axle back with the coupe midpipe. I like the sound quite a bit.

Not ricey, but a deep growl.

Does the G35 sedan sound different from the G35 coupe?

Stock, they will sound different.

The coupes have a smaller canister style resonator, while the sedans have a big box style resonator.

When I installed my Greddy EVO2 setup, I was very pleased.

It sounds like the coupe now, except probably a bit louder on WOT. The Greddy has a single muffler, with a big 4" outlet I think the exhaust you are looking at will probably have a minor difference in sound... but I have heard that same muffler on a 240sx and it sounded sex.

Go with some good quality parts man, it's a G35, don't rice it up, it might look cool and unique, but it's still just a weld on muffler... Power comes from quality workmanship and thorough testing etc.

Good luck, just my 2 cents

Oh, and welcome to NICO!!!! I've been gone for a while

Has anyone put the entire magnaflow system on for a g35-g37. Better yet has anyone built a custom system out of magna flow parts. I was looking at a system similar to the fast intentions system, but built with all magna flow parts. Any ideas on how this may work or sound.

I've only read that magnaflow and flowmaster on a G are just for noise.

I can't actually state that I know that for a fact. It seems that the G exhaust required a lot of R&D to produce improvement. Many of the earlier exhausts were purported to have no or negative gains.
