After debating between my choices of trying to find a full Megan exhaust and getting an exhaust custom fabricated with either Flowmaster 40 series or Magnaflow, I decided to go with the Magnaflow 14816.

A longtime friend of mine here in Atlanta who owns a shop called Extreme Performance Mufflers did the work for me. He custom fabbed my system with 2.25" piping all the way from the catalytic converters back and installed a Magnaflow X pipe.

He cut the ends off the cats to match the 2.25" diameter of the piping instead of the factory diameter the ends were reduced to.

The rear tow hooks had to be removed for clearance but all stock hanging points were used, and the tow hook bolt holes were used to hang the rear of the mufflers.

I'm going to have to learn how to do a better job when I wash my car with my new exhaust...

And now on to the video. The most accurate sound will be with headphones or a good speaker system when viewing.

First night quick clip on top of a parking garage

In car dash cam clip driving through parking garage and down street (Cobra CDR 840)

Start up, rev and three takeoff videos.
1st takeoff is light throttle. 2nd takeoff is heavy throttle with unexpected wheelspin and traction control intervening. 3rd takeoff is light throttle to avoid wheelspin progressing to heavy throttle once the car got moving.

I'm very pleased with the outcome. I've never had the car on a dyno so I cannot give a comparison on output. It feels like it accelerates slightly better, but of course now I can hear what the engine is doing more so there is more of a sensation of the car's actual speed. 70-80mph on the highway is nice since the car has pretty short gearing it avoids the lower rpm where with this exhaust there could be some droning. I wanted it louder hence my decision not to install any resonators. Total cost would run around $700.00 parts and labor.

Not bad...but I think they stick too far out from the back. Need to shorten like 2".

Great videos...I love the Magnaflow sound. They might stick out a little too much based on all the low angle shots, but they look good to me in the high angle pics.

Thanks for sharing vasekvi. Great videos, great post.
With a well rusted stock exhaust from the rear cats and back, this is definitely something I might have to do. It sounds good
