Been thinking,,, <my wife says that is my biggest problem!> Consider getting a JWT ECU set up for the Cobra MAF and 72# injectors, install MAF Translator Pro and install a MAP system for airflow monitoring instead of using the Cobra MAF. The MAFT-PRO has a Cobra MAF output (for signal to the ECU) with a MAP system input. Would get rid of the MAF and get a little tuning ability based on MAP data rather than MAF. Is this possible? Seems that according to most, JWT's timing maps are very safe and all I want is air/fuel control without dealing with MAF issues. This would give me the ability to lean out some of JWT's inherent richness and eliminate the MAF sensor without going to a full standalone ECU. is this possible? Anyone fooled with the MAF Translator Pro? Sure would prefer MAP instead of MAF. Let the flames begin for the noob! <laughing> Thanks in advance for any replies.JT

Dude, I'm right with you. I want to use the stock ECU, but utilize the maft pro, for sure. with all the DSM guys using it, I don't see why we couldn't, unless there's some magical Nissan fairy hiding in our ecu that makes it different. Anyone else with comments on this old *** post I brought back from the dead?

Kinda sad no one answered his question in the past year . Maybe the OP bought it & will have some input.

In any case, I think the reason most people don't do it is because for the cost of a new JWT ECU + MAFT-PRO, you can spend another 100-200 and get a full standalone. If you can get a used JWT ECU, you can get a used AEM EMS as well.

If you want to go MAP, might as well go full standalone - even w/ the MAFT-PRO you are going to need to "translate" the map signal to a maf signal, which will also be less accurate than an ecu that can read a map signal from the beginning.

You'll obviously need to spend more money tuning the EMS if you don't know how (and I don't blame you, the EMS allows you to do so much stuff it can get very confusing), but you are going to want to tune the JWT setup eventually as well.

In the end, it's going to cost the same amount of money one way or another.
