Ok so im hitting the cut out at around 9-10psi on the new turbo with the stock ca MAFS. I read somewhere that the sohc ka MAFS was able to read more airflow and is a replacement/upgrade for the ca MAFS. Well I went ahead and switched mafs and rewired.... started her up and it idled great, really smooth. I go to give her some gas and its really dodgy, almost like revving with the choke on with a dirt bike but will go above 3k rpm. The motor heated up really fast(also smoking pretty bad) so I shut it off and thought about it for a minute.
Ah hah! I could just swap the ca sensor into the bigger bore ka-e housing....Well I tried that and it did the same thing as trying to use the ka-e mafs?!?! what the hell? I dont understand how using the same CA mafs sensor in the KA housing is the same as trying to use the ka mafs.... Oh well, it still runs fine with the stock mafs sensor in the stock housing.
Im trying to decided weather or not to go piggyback or rom tune. Im really looking into the e-manage, as there was just a write up and its better then safc with the support tool and I alredy have a laptop sooo. I would like to just go with a chip tune but I dont know anyone with the hardware to burn chips when upgrading or tuning.
