I know this isnt a Nissan, but u guys always help me w/ what i need. Ok well i have a 98 GMC Safari (never get one) and i got the computer tested yesterday and it threw codes p0171 and p0174 (fuel trim sys. lean bank 1 & bank 2). There was 3 (that I found) problems that could be wrong. The MAFS is dirty, A vacuum line downstream the MAFS was broken, or low fuel pressure. I tried the easiest and that was to take the intake off and look at the MAFS. I did. The MAFS was very dirty so this morning i went up to Autozone and bought non-chlorinaded brake parts cleaner (as was recommended) and sprayed it on there and cleaned it off. So as it was drying I noticed that one of the connecter looking things was "rusty" looking i kno i didnt explain this right so I included pictures. So what i was wondering is if the MAFS is bad or is it ok?

Doesn't look too promising... That's a '98 MAF?

Might be looking for a replacement.

Try fixing the vac leak and see how it runs, make sure to disc the battery to reset ECU.

yeah its a '98 i just put everything back together, it runs and drives ok but there is a noticable lack in power and it sometimes bogs down really bad but im surprised that the code for a cylinder misfire didnt go off because it does miss, pretty bad.
