ok im down with most of the jargon used when talking 'car talk', but i always hear MAF being thrown around and i dont know what it means or does, im assuming its MASS AIR FLOW meter, but i dont know exactly what it does, and go figure, i blew mine on my car and if it werent for warranty id be out damn near $800, anyway, i htink this is very important when it comes to modding , so what exactly is the damn thing?? :help

I was wondering the same thing? But I know that if he was using a CAI the dealer would not have covered the part.S im guessing something else is the cause.

i dunno guys, it was wierd, i was at about 15k on the car, jus got gas and was running home at about 1oo+ and then it jus hit, i dramtically lost speed and it wouldnt let me rev over 2500, so i thought, crap i have water in my gas, so i got some STP, but it still didnt work, so i took it inot the dealership and they told me it was my MAF, and that they replaced it and gave me a whole new intake, and that if i didnt have warranty it woulda cost me over a damn grand to fix it, i was jus curious as to exactly what they did, and no the car was 1oo% stock, no filter or nothing changed

Nissan has had MAF problems in some models, common symptoms include misfire and stall. I seen it on a few Sentras where the MAF was replaced as per recommendation by Nissan Tech Line.
