ok i've searched till my fingers bled still no luck. My only question is does anybody have a definitive answer on how to tell if your mafs is broken or not? (not trying to be a d**k just frustrated lol)

my 240 ka will run fine mafs unplugged (limp mode) but as soon as i plug it in it will stall within 5 or 10 seconds and if i try to give it throttle it only stalls faster. i've cleaned it with mafs cleaner, checked the wires etc. problem is

wish i knew someone near me that had a 240 so i could borrow their mafs for a second but i donthelp, suggestions please

thanx nico

start your car and let it warm up a lil, fold back the rubber around the maf plug in and take a volt meter/checker wat ever you wanna call it and check wire one. thats the wire all the way to the left if your lookin at it plugged in it should read from 1.0-1.4 volts.

you might have a bare wire, or like he said just test it with a multi meter if you have a manual for your car it will give you all the info and step by step to check it out

true that would be definitive (smart-*** lol ) it's just frustrating to think about spending $250-400~ for that part. do any of you know of another mafs i can switch out, i know the z32 one oem is $200 but still cheaper. ideas?

thanx guys

well a great way to check is to take off the maf and start the car up and if the idle is super low and its sputtering hella and or stall then a bad maf and if you have no difference and how your car acts with or with out the maf, then its probly bad too, also u could check the voltage and grounds like already mentioned above

thanx guys i ended up checking junk yard, none for 240 but found one on a stanza, similar size mafs housing, same bolt pattern. so i cut back the wires to see.. same wires too, hooked them up using butt connectors (going to solder) works . car runs and i can give it gas again run like it use to.

i plan to convert to z32 or the one from jwt when i upgrade my ecu but for $3 you can't beat it with a stick thanx again
