Ok so I extended the wrong wire for my maf I think. It was connected to the MAF when I got the harness so i just assumed it was the right wire. Then I got it all wired up and it appeared I extended the wrong wire. Just wanting verification that I did indeed do this. Here are some pics.

Here is the wire I extended. I assume it goes to the cam sensor

Here is the one that I think I should have extended

Can someone verify that I extended the wrong wires.

The 4 prong plug that goes the CAS is proportioned just enough for that. The plug for the AFM is longer. If you don't have a plug readily available to plug into the CAS, then you've indeed extended the wrong plug my friend.

Well see thats the problem. I dont even know what that silver box in the second picture is, I just bolted it next to the battery tray cause I had nowhere else to put it. The MAF and CAS both seem to have the same connection. Both wires were realatively short.

<Off topic.. Adam.. you coming to Galesburg, IL for the drink beer with Neal meet this summer? Last winter was awesome.. so I'm hoping you can make it down there again this summer as well >

sorry.. back on topic now...

To my understanding.. Nissan's harness always have the MAF wires sheilded.. The ones in the second picture look almost exactly like the SR20 MAF wires that I just was working on this evening. The plug looks identical as well.

The first picture looks like the CAS sensor plug in my RB20..

So, I'd say you are correct about having the two mixed up.

The 180sx that the CA came out of was a RHD car right?.. So that segment of the harness would have travelled down the left side of the car. So it would have been a short wire to the MAF since it's already on that side of the car.

Hey whats up krazy skwerel!

Hey listen, those two plugs you're talking about are indeed the CAS and MAF sensor plugs. You DID extend the CAS wiring buts thats ok. The other plug at the end of the harness is for the MAF sensor. I recently had to do the same thing but i didnt get them mixed up. Just extend the wires for the MAF and you should be ok. You might want to think about taking out the extension for the CAS. Also that "silver box" is a Resistor for the low impedance injectors that the CA uses. This is used to lower voltage down to a specified value and the computer grounds each injector circuit. When i was doing my wiring, i had a problem with this because my injectors werent getting any power from the resistor, or the ECCS Relay. The one and only red (power) wire coming from the Resistor is the wire that recieves power from the relay and sends power to each injector. If you're not using a wiring diagram from the FSM i suggest you get one and while youre at it, get an ECU Pinout diagram too.

If youre still lost along the way, let us know. Good luck!
