on a 93 VE30de motor, i pulled the maf sensor and tried wireing it to my ca18det. Now it sorta doesnt work... i think i may have smoked it; in fact, there was a little smoke. So if someone wants to post up a scan or picture of the wires to the maf and what they are suposed to go to... its got only 4 wires.

that would be SUPER helpful!!thanks!

The MAF has +12 input, a ground, and a shielded return to ecu [varies from +1 >+4 volts].................have seen many where the +12 is sent to ecu destroying ecu and those where the +12 is applied to wrong MAF output destroying the MAF...................and those units where both were destroyed.

A great lesson in electronics.

Swapping MAF [trying to upgrade diameter] is almost useless in a NA engine since the engineers design the MAF to have no more than 7" WC pressure loss................the entire induction tract from atmoshere to cylinders is 25-28" WC............................1% is not worth the effort.
