MAF trouble.

ok so im battling this constant problemn of running great and running so bad that i wont drive it. well saturday morning i clean out my MAF put togther the begining of a catch tank system , routed the two breathr pipes to a hose with a filter on it for now. car was running like a dream, we went out and were doing alot of highway racing , i ownd a stock Dsm turbo and jetta. got walked bad by a MK4 TT supra, and a EVO8 . they made us all look like we were standing still as they flew by us.

so this morning i decide ill change the oil pick up some parts visits some shops cars still running great! well change the oil everything back on levels are good. goto drive home damn thing wont hold steady idle dives alot and stalls out . horribile sputtery surging . dog on boost, smoking black under mild boost like 5psi . can a MAF just start to go haywire and work one minute and not another ? cause it seems to come and go. even while driving.

also will a Ca18et MAF work? i have one i tried it seems to work but i dont want to run my self lean. also i have a Z32 MAF. but no chip yet. and no S-AFC to make it work with it .

so im stuck .

If it has a loose wire it may go dodgy on you. Bring it down one night and we will swap it out with my MAF.

these evos arnt that bad! he had 4 people in the car, and it was fast.. i think he runs mid to low 12s at the track. sounds godawfull at WOT, as he was passing me i was at WOT and close to redline and i thought i had thrown a rod and nope it was the EVO goin by me
