I have read that somebody has changed from MAF to MAP. But looking at the FSM I cannot find a temp sensor or input that can be used in conjunction wit the pressure sensor to do a MAP setup. I assume along with this the mapping in the ECU does not allow for any temp/pressure calculation to get flow or load. Does anybody know where I can get more info on changing from MAF to MAP on the factory ECU. Do they use a daughterboard that does all the temp/pressure calcs and then send the output to the MAF input?

The reason I want to look at MAP is that in a 4x4 I think the MAF is going to die

You could switch to megasquirt to handle your fuel, leave the ignition and everything else to the stock ECU basically megasquirt can just act as a map based fuel piggyback.

The FSM indicates that MAF is an input to fuel, ignition, VTC, EGR, fuel pump and idle control. So it seems you'll need the MAF even if you run the fuel with Megasquirt.

Does anybody know of a board that can use pressure and temp and then do the math and give a single output that will make the MAF input think it is a MAF?

Thanks, seems like the MAFT is the right thing.
