Has anyone here gone to full standalone and removed there maf sensor and switched to a map, and if you have can you post some pictures . This is my third 240, but my first ka-t. i have had an sr and sometimes i would have problems with the maf sensor with my intercooler setup. I know that you can swith to a map sensor, but i just would like to know what people have used on ka-t and how there setup looked and worked, Thanx.

We have done it many times here. AEM EMS is most is the prefered method IMO.

We have however done it with e-manage Ultimate too

I did it one my car but I am also runninng the aem ems. I can take pics and post them after work. If I remember correctly there were 3 wires they all connected to the ecu harness. Thats about it there isnt much to it. You cant really tell it is there because it is a small sensor. I ziptied it to some wires and hooked up the vacuum line.

Can some one please take some pictures since I was also told that the IAT must be installed to the intake manifold. I was wondering if this sensor has to be be drilled into the manifold or can it be installed in one for one of the existing sensor in the bottom side of the IM.

Correction on the IAT install location, reading another thread on this forum indicated that ppl are installing the IAT sensor pre turbo inlet, so that lends me to believe that it needs to go at the same place the Z32MAF sensors was positioned. Odd, since on a Honda the IAT is located directly in the Intake Manifold.

Thanks in advance

You need to resize your signature pic, its to big and in violation of the Ncio sig rules. Mine is as big as you can go.

Dang it now we have conflicting suggestions, according to this thread, it says before the turbo inlet?

Both will work just fine. So install it where ever you want. Also, this is a thread that has nothing to do with IAT sensors...so either post in the other thread you just linked to.

ok so since we are on this topic. a map sensor outputs a 0-5v signal correct? and this translates into a certain pressure. so why is it not possible to get a vq map for a map sensor and enter it into a rom tune or biki...?

Go check out hybridka.com It's more for the SOHC folks. But they worked out a way that on a chipped ecu you can use map instead of maf.
