MAF sensors

I just had a thought about getting a bigger maf sensor to compensate for the bigger injectors i was going to need whenever i put some boost to my ride. i was talking to a teacher the other day and he said that i could probably use the maxima MAF sensor and it really made me think and i was wondering if anyone could confirm this or tell me other wise. The only thing that i am worried about is whether or not they are on the same kind of encryption or do they send the same signal to the ecu, or does it even matter at all.
