 Ok so my first post on nico...although I did post on the old one...or was it something else....in any case. Back when I pulled the head off...long story...when I got done I have the worst f'in idle problem. Well start, when I put the head and chain back together, I couldn't get the marks and the chain to line up and not hit the valves...being the ex-engineering major, and being my father(an engineer) was kinda helping, I timed the cams my self...they are really timed right...maybe too right. Anyway at idle the car shakes really bad and wont hold idle, in fact it tries to cut off. If I turn the AC on the problem gets a little better.( Note my car had the usual cutoff at redlight idle problem before pulling the head) The car also gets horrendous gas mileage, poor performance, has a gas smell out of exghaust, back fires occasionally. I took it to nissan and they say MAF sensor...can it really cause all these problems...also can my cam timing be so precise that it has a hard time with US gasoline....its a far stretch but I know that Japan has higher octane gas then we do...you may get my drift. Finally, where can I get a MAF sensor cheap...OEM is 450 I found it on the web for 310....any ideas? Also when driving say like over 25 if I puch the clutch and rev the engine the engine won't go over 5000 rpms...but at a stop it will. Thanks in advance.

Say, that's bad luck for him, but good news for me. Could the MAF sensor make a major difference with gas mileage. right now I am LUCKY to get 16mpg. IT really sucks.
