Replace with a MAP sensor and use another type of computer, then most likely re-wire the whole engine to run with said new computer.

It's not something just anyone can do.

You can run without a MAF in most cars... you just wont rev passed 3,000 RPM.

My Miata runs without the factory MAF, like Dave said, I yanked it out, and now use a stand-alone ECU with integrated MAP sensor. I didn't have to re-wire anything though.

That's pretty cool. So the MAP pins on the ECU was the same wires as the MAF?

No, you just unplug the MAF, and don't put anything in its place. You then run a vacuum line in to your passenger compartment and connect it directly to the ECU via the barb sticking out of it.

Im still waiting for an ECU where you can get emissions and recive any trouble codes with, with an aftermarket turbo.

guys with supras, rbs, and any other high boost motors they run a bell housing around the turbo without any piping or air filters i was wondering how but now i know. so now is it worth removing it if you dont have a gigantic turbo or any other reasons.

Hahah, didn't some Chrysler's have that system with the MAP in the cabin with a vacuum line going straight inside?
