I just found out why my 240 iddles like a top fuel drag car. It runs through quarter a tank to go to work and home.Bad MAF sensor. None can be found in any junkyard for a 1992 240SX SE within 100 miles of my home, and the local Nissan dealer wants $489.95 for one the cheapest online I found was $120 and its a 50/50 shot. I did find an 89-91 sensor and it was different looking and it went to a SOHC motor. The plugs didn't match either. But the wires going into mine and that one were the same color and they were in the same order.
***Would it be possible to swap a 1989 SOHC MAF sensor into a 1992 DOHC?***
And if so is it true that you must mount it CPU side up because if so i need to fabricate a bracket to hold the new unit because the former ownwer rigged a cold air tube. eveerything is kosher except the sensor.

Yes it works, but since it is used...it will be sold as is, no warranty implied. Since I am not sure if your car has an electrical issue, I can't take a chance.
They list a TON of 'em for between $35 and $50...all from junkyards, most have warranties.
Search for "air flow meter" and expand the search range to "southeast"...MAF's are small, and very cheap to ship...so just find one cheap from a yard with a warranty, and pick it up.
