Im having issues with my mass air flow sensor, some times the car sometimes completly looses power, like im taking off in 5th gear from a stop, so i play with the clutch to get moving, also when the car is cold and im just turning it on, i have to treat it like a carburated motor and give it gas till it warms up, even though its and EFI car. Now I have the stock L28 and im about to swap out with the L28et on my 77 280z. What can i do to fix the problem? Should i use the same MAF or what could i upgrade to, or what is the most cost efficient way to fix this.

for clarification, the s30 and s130 both used an AFM (aif Flow Meter), which is different from a mass air flow sensor, same basic size and shape but the afm has a flapper door inside it where the maf simply measures temperature to calculate air density

if you intend to swap to l28et you will need the l28et afm, it is different from the n/a unit and they can not be interchanged

and are you sure the afm is the issue? have you tried adjusting the dial on the afm? have you tested it for deadspots?

Thanks for that clarification, that makes my decision to change it all the more clear.

As for the testing, I'm not really sure how to do it. So I think I'll just swap it out and see if that fixes it.
