I have read on some posts that a MAF sensor for an 01 Maxum is the same sensor for an 01 QX4. Price is much cheaper for the Maxum MAF. True or False? Also, will a new MAF sensor help with cold start hesitations and surges? Car seems to run fine after it has warmed up. Replaced the plugs and installed new fuel filter. There are no OBDII codes. There was a right bank to lean code but cleared that after the plugs and filter change and hasn't come back.

It does seem like you may need a new MAF and yes they are much cheaper, your looking at about $85 versus $220 for a Pathfinder MAF.

I ordered a brand new maxima MAF from Victory Nissan in Chesapeake, VA off of ebay Ebay Auction for 2001 Maxima MAF. It worked like a charm and they shipped it out USPS Priority Mail the same day. I also ordered an O2 sensor from them which arrived promptly. They're a dealer so you can give them your VIN for part verification so there isn't any second guessing your purchase.

Thanks for the two replies. I'll give a new MAF a try.
