MAF Sensor bad How do you know when bad HELP PLEASE

I have a 1985 300zx non turbo. How can you tell if the MAF sensor is bad ? I have cleaned it no help. What does the car act like when the MAF sensor goes bad?? Thanks

Usually, ir doesn't accellerate well, and runs rough. I have heard of surging also. I am not sure as to how you check it. I'll look into as to how to do that.

2500. If your maf is bad, you'll know what that number refers to.

your engine will not turn over 2500 RPM when the MAF is bad. It shuts down at 2500.
