Just bought this car 94 Q45, noticed the clips holding the air box lid were un clipped, opened the lid to check the condition of the filter and found the screen for the MAF sensor laying on top of the air filter, is there any way to re attach this?

Wow ive never heard of that happening..... Honestly, if your running an OEM paper filter (what else is there ) i wouldnt worry about it... BE a little more anal about the filter replacement...

I don't think the screen is there to block debris passed by the filter.

Well, in a way it is, isn't it? Protects the hot wire sensor.

maybe the screen is there just to prevent fingers from touching what they shouldn't, I have to pull the top of the air filter box and the MAF sensor out soon anyway, I'm going to clean the TB. as too the only paper air filters for this car, I just found a part number for a drop in replacement K&N part number 33-2110anyone know of any problems using the K&N?

Yeah, lots. Don't use them.

The screen is there to smooth the airflow so the MAF gives a consistent reading.

Yeah.. Its kind of a unique design.. either way, dont use a K/N and I think youll be OK using that.....

You can always get a new one and sell that one to a 240 guy if it really bothers you. I can tell you the 240guys wouldnt care about that

I reattached the screen it fits tight so I'm sure it will stay in place.

What's the problems with the K&N filter?
