I have a 93 240sx Ka24de, problem: MAF had an "open" in the ground wire to the ECU. I cut and spliced the old wire and grounded it to my engine w/ nice clean connections. this eliminated my black smoke/rich problem but my engine still bogs (real bad when first driving the car) then when it warms up it gets better but doesn't go away,...I have eliminated mechanical problems becasue I swapped my motor with a "know good" motor. feels like im getting lower then stock WHP Specs. well, my main question is....Is that ground that I installed gonna affect proformance???

or could this also be my fuel pump?if so how do I go about testing it?

You left the original ground going to the ECM right and only spliced into it right? Even if you didnt it wont effect performance just the chance of a CEL.

To check your fuel pump while driving you hook up the gauge with enough fuel line to position it where you can see it. When you get on it pressure should not drop below around 35 psi.
