Well I`ve looked around and found that quite a few different MAFs can be used with the CA18DET but most of them require mods of some shape or form . So being the nissan newb I am , what MAF would I use for a stock CA18DET running stock management , since the places I`ve found to buy swaps from don`t include the MAF . I see the KA24E seems to be the MAF of choice , but can I use the MAF from my KA24DE ?

No modification at all? That would be a stock, OEM CA18DET MAF. Anything else will require you to at least rewire. I can vouch that a KA24E MAF can be rewired and run, for a time, with stock management. But it wil run lean. Seriously, do it right. Get a stock MAF, or perform the necessary modifications to run another (rewire and retune).

Well the stock idea is just to get the car running and on the road . I`m going to do all the maintance items before I put it in , timing belt , water pump , gaskets and such . After I`ve had a little fun and have had time to replenish my funds I`ll start the bolt-on upgrades .

just slapping it together is a bad and usually costly plan do it right and get stock maf or tuned and a N60, N62, P60, or KA-E

I don`t have any plans of just slapping something together , I have every plan of upgrading in the future , I just want to get a stock setup in the car and running so I can enjoy it for a while , during which time I can go through the suspension and tighten everything up and then when my funds are back up to speed work on upgrading the engine . I`m not trying to sound nasty , I just don`t want anybody to think I`m half-assed or an idiot .

99.98% of the people coming here 1/2 a** their CA swap and then come back and cry about it......... So long as you stick to and do it properly the first time you wont become another statistic.

I`ve never been one to follow the masses , I have about 20 years in the VW field so all this Nissan stuff is new to me and I must say things are a lot different when it comes to tuning between the two . I just want to get the car up and running with a CA in it`s stock form so I can have personal feel for the power increase of each upgrade . Plus I like having the satisfaction of knowing I did something myself , but I don`t want to learn everything by trial and error the way I did with VW`s . See with age comes a little wisdom
