Car: Tuning my car, working on friends cars

Ok Here is the situation. I am not getting a signal from my maf. I upgraded to a Cobra MAF. I checked the MAf and it is working fine. I checked the power and it is getting power I checked the power ground an it is grounded I checked the isgnal ground and it is grounded. I checked the continuity of the signal wire and it is ok. It was working fine then I was tiinkering under the hood so I disconnected the power ground to move it out of the way. When I hooked it back up the MAF would not work. Does anyone ahve any solutions or encounterd this problem before? Please help. I want to drive my car again.

You've checked the new ground you just installed?

Sounds to me like since it was working and the only thing you did was change a ground, then it's either a bad ground, or you toasted the MAF. Don't know if that's possible with the engine off, but I always unhook the harness to be safe.

ok solved the problem. What happened is when I was tinkering under the hood. I accidently pinched the signal wire and grounded it to the chassis. I took the pinched wire off and replaced it with a new sectionof wire. The car runs as good as new now.
