Hey guys I'm new to posting on these forums although I've been reading the topics for awhile now, I heard about this site from rsdans240sx and decided to join finally. Anyways my question is this- When I start my car it idles weird and if you start driving it and you shift over 2000rpms it backfires. Once the car is warmed up it doesn't do that although when you come to a stop it idles weird like sometimes it will idle fine and other times it will bounce between 200 rpms and 1000 rpms however; if you turn on the AC it idles fine. It is a KA24E with a cheap looking RamAir type intake on it with a HKS exhaust and a header...I don't remember who makes the header though.

So could this be the MAF sensor or could it be the Oxygen sensor? I used the search button and I looked in the technical info but I didn't find much in the way of these symptoms. Also I have recently replaced the sprak plugs, wires, distributer, distributer cap and the rotar. Thanks guys

Hey thanks I tried that and when I disconnected it the car idled alot smoother. I went down to shucks and got some MAF cleaner and a new air filter and it runs great now. Now if I could figure out my seatbelts it would be great, ever since I bought the car the shoulder part of the belt stays up all the time even if you open the door it doesn't go forward. Not too long ago I hit a deer Actually someone else hit the deer and didn't move it out of the way so I came around the corner and hit it.

When I hit it the tierod on the passenger side broke in half causing me to hit a fence and then the side of the car nailed a telephone pole (No I was not drifting when I hit the deer) So anyways when I hit the fence of course my body went forward and lo and behold the seatbelt went forward too! I hit the deer doing about 35mph and now the front end and the one side of my car is ****** up. So I'm wondering how do I fix the seatbelt so it goes back and forth properly and so it won't fail like that again? Kinda hurts to nail your face on the steering wheel like that...
