Hi im new to the site but i have ben looking for a problem like mine before i posted this. ok so i got a silvia half cut from flashoptions.com(do not buy there).its a redtop motor with a z32 maf, arc fmic, and a hks gt2530 turbo.when i finally got it after like 2 years!!! it had some problems but it started.so far i replaced the ignitor because #2 wasnt firing and the fuel rail was bent so i replaced that as well.the i had a maf code and i soldered all the crimp connections and the resistence went way down but it still runs like crap.and like crap is when the maf is pluged in and i start it i have to choke the intake so it runs alot leaner and i slowly have to take more of my hand off of it when im accelerating. it will rev all the way but i have to choke it. now when the maf isnt plugged in it idles great a revs to 2500 like its supposed to but once i plug it in it dies. i know the maf is good because it tested it on my 300zx and it ran fine, the internals ar good bc i did a clt and compression test, i got spark, all the inectors are firing and vacuum is at 18-20. so this is where im at. say the front cut had a walboro fuel pump and since im running extended lines of my stock s13 fuel pump will it make that big of a difference. i appreciate any help thanks joe

you've a mafs/mafs wiring issue. vac is a bit low though.

Is your ecu setup for those other parts? Did it come with those from the clip or did you add them yourself without getting the ecu rom flashed?

everything came from the clip. i just dont know what to check on the maf wiring. my ohms are like .01 or .02. all of the connections are good. and i know the maf is good because i tested it on my 300z. thanks for responding though

do you have an AFM converter, or is the ECU tuned for a Z maf?

I think i know whats going on here. Your front clip came complete with an upgraded Maf, but not the piggyback controller that was used to run it. You need a piggyback ecu system or you need to buy a stock Maf with pigtail.

I would suggest getting an SAFC2 with your upgraded turbo. Its the most widely used and user friendly tuning device EVER(lmao, but so true) Pick one up used from our classifieds or ebay. The install itself is pretty easy, im sure you can find a bunch of info on it by searching for Sr SAFC.

Also, for the time being, i would run stock levels of boost(7-8), and run the SAFC as simply a translator between your upgraded MAF and your stock ECU. With that turbo you could easily blow up your SR if you turn up the boost. Go over to the SR20DET forum and read all the stickys, im sure they will answer most every question you will have. Later on, you can either get a professional dyno tune from a shop, or get a wideband O2 sensor and tune it yourself.

Hope this helps and good luck man, your gona love your SR they are a freaken blast.

ya see i also thought that it might of had a piggyback but there are no cuts in the harness or anything. the ecu that came with it is an intec ecu. i opened it up and it is chipped with a daughterboard and everything. my next step was going to be buy a tuned ecu for it or a stock ecu with a piggyback or just a piggyback. but you know drifters we are broke. thanks for your suggestions guys
