When my maf is plugged in the car idles fine but if i rev up it cuts at 2500. Safe mode. Last time i swapped the maf, and it worked fine. But this time i couldn't get ahold of a sr maf so i got the ka24e maf. unfortunately i got the pigtail off of some other car, and the wires were random colors. so i was testing the wires on my engine harness, and im not getting a 12v signal from anything. shouldn't i be getting one from the seperated black/white wire? im wondering if my ecu is having problems...please help me out.

Yes, trace the wire back to the ECU. Make sure your getting continuity at pins 38 and 47 back at the ECU.

If the MAF is not getting 12 volts, buying a new one won't fix it.

Well if theres no power going to the MAF, it wont function correctly. It's strange that you just suddenly stopped getting 12 volts to the MAF. I'd check all the wiring, solder all connections.

i would cut the wires going to the ECU and run test leads to the MAF (power, signal, and ground). what you are testing for is a break in the harness...if you correct your problem then you know what you have to do(open the harness and replace the bad wires...)remeber do one at a time..that way you can pinpiont the problem

does anyone know the exact pins that all three maf wires go to? it would just save me a bunch of time seeing as i don't have money for a wire tracer. Greatly appreciate it.

One of them goes to a ground later on in the harness. Another one goes to the ecu, and I forgot where the last one went.
