Yesterday I decided to clean my MAF and Intake. After I cleaned the MAF with some brake cleaner I set it out to dry and later installed it. Now Im having idle problems and the car is running rich. It bogs down and runs crapy. Has any one encountered this problem?

the mass air flow is the silver round part that connects the air filter to your intake piping. there is a plug on the top of the assembly that has about 3 or 4 wires on it. if you sprayed the filament with brake cleaner you more then likely broke it, due to the fact that brake cleaner is under pressure and it shoots out of the can rather hard. i have another mass air flow sensor if you want to buy it. the only sensor that is there would be your tps(throttle position sensor)

if for some reason he cleaned that part off which i dont think that he did due to the fact that i think you have to remove your throttle body to get it off he might have not put it back where it need to be set at. but i think that he broke the filament.

sorry for double posting but what exactly does your car do. when you say it runs bad there are about 10000 reasons why. but if it doenst go past 3000 rpm's or it runs bad at a certain rpm's then there is a better chance that i might be able to help you out.

sounds kinda like your mafs not working. you said that its not holding on, i would venture to asssume that you dont have the little clip that held it into place, what you need to do is either find one or tape it down of find some thin wire and wrap it around the plug and tie it off so it wont fall off.

Well all I can say is you live and you learn. If you sprayed your MAF with brake cleaner then it's FUBAR! Your maf contains a sensor and circuit card/w electronics. You wouldn't spray brake cleaner to clean your laptop or PS2 would you?? Always, always....you still with me? Always use electronics cleaner for your MAF. Luckily you can usually find a new one on ebay or from fellow 240 enthusiast for a decent price. New ones are only available at the dealer and they run anywhere from $350-$450!
